Bureau of Land Management Offers Online Spring Land Sale in Las Vegas Valley

LA VEGAS – The Bureau of Land Management Las Vegas Field Office is seeking public comment on a proposed sale of 35 parcels totaling 400,815 acres of public land in the Las Vegas Valley, pursuant to the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act (SNPLMA). In accordance with SNPLMA, 85% of the funds generated from this sale will be used throughout Nevada for projects such as the development of parks, trails and natural areas, capital improvements on federal lands, the acquisition environmentally sensitive land, reduction of hazardous fuels. , and landscape restoration projects. Additionally, five percent of revenue will go to the Nevada State General Education Fund and ten percent will be directed to the Southern Nevada Water Authority.

Sales plots are located throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Of the thirty-five parcels, twenty-six are located in the northwest portion of the valley near Interstate 215, US 95, and State Route 157; two are located southwest near Blue Diamond Road; one is located southeast near South Las Vegas Boulevard and West Roban Avenue; and six are located in the Southeast near Burkholder Boulevard and South Racetrack Road.
