Mitre10’s website was down for most of Tuesday.

Miter10 is convinced that a failure of its website was not caused by hackers.

The company’s internet shopping site was down for most of the day on Tuesday due to an “unexpected outage.”

Miter10 was able to display a notice informing customers of the outage.

This would indicate that the problem is also unlikely to be caused by a denial of service attack, which would normally result in intermittent error messages.

Miter10 said in a statement that the “technical issues” were to blame and he understood how frustrating it was. “Especially in the current context”.

“Forensic expertise” undertaken by his staff and independent experts so far had given him confidence that the cause was not a security breach, he said.

Miter10 said he is working to restore his website as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, his stores were accepting orders from phone and email and more staff had been assigned to handle orders and inquiries, he said.
