REPORTS

MALICIOUS INJURIES, 2022-03080218 N. Piedmont St. to Wilson Blvd. At approximately 6:28 p.m. on March 8, police were dispatched to report a fight involving a group of approximately 6-10 minors. Upon arrival, the miners were no longer at the scene and officers scoured the area and found evidence of an injury in the 500 block of N. Quincy Street. At approximately 7:14 p.m., the juvenile victim arrived at Virginia Hospital Center for treatment of stab wounds sustained during the scuffle. The victim’s injuries are considered serious but not life-threatening. There are no suspicious descriptions. The investigation is ongoing.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (Significant), 2022-03090021, 3100 block of Washington Boulevard. At approximately 2:23 a.m. on March 9, police were dispatched to report a disorderly subject. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect outside a business and took him into custody without incident. The investigation determined that the reporting party observed the suspect kicking the front door of an adjacent business and damaging it before fleeing on foot. Michael Thomas, 30, of Hyattsville, Maryland, was arrested and charged with felony destruction of property and public drunkenness.

FLIGHT (late), 2022-03070229, 900 block of N. Jackson St. At approximately 9:16 p.m. on March 7, officers were dispatched to the police station for the late report of an armed robbery. The victim said at around 3am he was standing outside a business with a witness when he was approached by the unknown male suspect. A verbal argument ensued, during which the suspect made threatening statements. The suspect then walked towards a parked vehicle occupied by two other individuals before approaching the victim again, brandishing a firearm and removing the victim’s jewelry. The suspect then fled in a dark-colored four-door sedan. The suspect is described as a slim-built black male, mid to late twenties, with short black and blond hair, wearing glasses. The investigation is ongoing.
