The next Nintendo Direct livestream is coming thursday, the company said. The 40-minute livestream will focus primarily on the launch of Nintendo Switch games this winter and comes about two weeks before the new model OLED of the hybrid console will launch on October 8.

When does Nintendo Direct start?

Nintendo Direct Live streaming begins at 3:00 p.m. PT / 6:00 p.m. ET, which converts to 11 p.m. BST or 8 a.m. Friday AEST.

How to watch

The event will be broadcast from Nintendo’s YouTube channel. We’ve embedded the YouTube link above, so you can watch it here.

What should we expect?

Terror Metroid, the latest Nintendo game long sci-fi series, released on October 8 and it’s fall major switch game. The company will likely take one last opportunity to present it before its release. We are unlikely to hear anything on the long awaited Metroid Prime 4, but the company may confirm the Switch remaster rumor from the Metroid Prime trilogy.

There are a few other great Switch releases coming this year. Pokemon Shiny Diamond and Shiny Pearl, remakes of the adventures of the Nintendo DS of 2007 Diamond and Pearl, arrives on November 19, as Super Mario Party superstars Shin Megami Tensei V and Advance Wars 1 + 2: Re-Boot Camp roll out 29 Oct, 12 Nov and 3 Dec, respectively.

As winter stretches into next year, maybe we could revisit Pokémon Legends: Arceus ahead of its January 28 release. Splatoon 3 and the sequel to Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild are also slated for release next year, but don’t have firm release dates.

It’s been as long as we haven’t heard from Bayonet 3. A listing on Nintendo’s Japanese site suggests that it come out in 2022. This is the first indication we have of a release date, which probably means it will appear too. The unannounced Kirby game Discovery of the Stars is also on this list, as a spring 2022 release, so it will likely be unveiled during the live stream.

Castlevania Advance Collection, a Switch compilation of the Game Boy Advance adventure games, reportedly appeared on review sites in many countries. It apparently includes Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow, and Dracula X. (The last one was an SNES game rather than a Game Boy Advance title, but we’ll take it.)

Meanwhile, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has one more fighter coming soon as downloadable content, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons gamers would definitely love to see new features.

Additionally, we have heard reports that Nintendo Switch online, the console subscription service, is added Game Boy and Game Boy Color games to its library of classics, and an FCC dossier suggested that a new Switch controller come.
