Ola Electric presented their very first S1 electric scooter a few weeks ago. The scooter that has created many ripples in the Indian electric vehicle space was scheduled to go on sale from September 8, with deliveries scheduled to begin in October. However, the company faced a technical issue when going live with the shopping website for consumers on Wednesday. This prompted Ola Electric to extend the start date for sales to September 15.
Ola Chairman and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal announced the decision in a statement posted late at night on Twitter. “We made a commitment to start shopping today for our Ola S1 scooter. But unfortunately we had a lot of technical difficulties getting our website online for shopping today, â€he wrote on Twitter, further adding“ I apologize to all of you, who had to wait several hours. The website was simply not operational. to our quality expectations. I know we have disappointed you and I sincerely apologize to each of you for what has clearly been a very frustrating experience. “
However, Bhavish Aggarwal also said that despite the delay in the sales process, the delivery dates for the Ola S1 and S1 Pro scooters will remain unchanged. The company has introduced a fully paperless digital shopping experience for consumers. The lending process is also completely digital.
He started receiving reservations for the S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters a few weeks ago at ??499, after introduction on August 15. S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters are priced at ??99,999 and ??129,999, excluding respectively FAME-II and state government benefits for electric vehicles.
Both scooters come with a host of cutting edge features. The scooters also have a new design. Available in 10 different color options, the Ola S1 is powered by an 8.5 kW electric motor with a 3.97 kWh battery.
