THPRD is offering monthly pass sales starting August 16

The Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation District is pleased to be able to bring back a monthly pass option that allows people to access THPRD facilities. Starting Monday August 16, the following monthly passes are available:

  • General pass — available for walk-in activities such as swimming, use of gym, walking track, use of weight room or cardio training;
  • Deluxe Pass: includes all General Pass activities plus access to instructor-led courses;
  • Silver Upgrade Pass: A discounted option available in partnership with healthcare providers.

Passes can be purchased for one month at a time for youth, adults, two-person households, or three-person or more households. Discounted prices are available for youth, seniors, and military personnel who reside within the park district boundaries.

THPRD Sale of native fall plants for pre-order only

Pre-order period: Sunday August 15 to Wednesday September 15.

Plant Pickup: Friday October 8 and Saturday October 9, Tualatin Hills Nature Park, 15655 SW Millikan Way.

The hills of Tualatin Nature center partners with Sparrowhawk Native Plants to host the Fall Native Plants Sale. This year, pre-orders are necessary to collect the plants. Those interested can register in line and choose from 100 species of premium native plants. Upon departure, choose to pick up your order at the Tualatin Hills Natural Park.

These climate-resistant plants will enhance your garden, allowing it to better support pollinators and wildlife. Hawk offers thousands of native habitat-friendly plants and information on their benefits. And fall is the best time to plant it all! Plan now to beautify your yard with natives!

The sale of plants is sponsored by the Friends of the Tualatin Hills Natural Park. The proceeds from the sale will be used for future improvements to the natural park and for environmental education programs.

Elsie Stuhr Center Prepares to Welcome Back to Community 55+

We look forward to welcoming people back to the Elsie Stuhr Center in mid-September. Details are being finalized and staff are working on a tentative reopening date of Monday, September 13. Staff are hired and trained while we prepare for the installation, focusing exclusively on serving customers 55 and over, for a limited reopening. Visitors can expect the dedicated weight / cardio room to return, the game room to open for social activities, and more. An open house is planned at the Elsie Stuhr Center on Wednesday, August 25. THPRD fall registrations open on August 28

Saturday, August 28, 8 a.m. for neighborhood residents. Monday, August 30 for out-of-neighborhood registrations

The fall schedule will be available online August 6. Visit the district website for more details. THPRD will not be producing a printed activity guide this fall.

Online registration is encouraged! The fastest, easiest and best way to register is to www.thprd.org. Make sure you’ve set up your username and password to be ready. And if you haven’t already, please update your username: (As of Spring 2020, all THPRD accounts must have an updated username that does not include your name combination /Date of Birth.)

In-Person Registration: Drop-in registration at our open facilities is permitted starting Saturday August 28 for clients in the district who require additional assistance. The website registration portal is always the preferred method, but come if you need help. Facilities open at different times and not all centers are currently open to the public, so check our website for hours.

Centro de Bienvenida: We continue to have bilingual staff and volunteers serving Spanish speaking clients. All non-English speakers in need of additional assistance are encouraged to attend this event. 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, August 28 at THPRD’s Howard M. Terpenning Complex at 15707 SW Walker Rd.
