LISBON – The Department of Armenian Communities of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the Zndoog.com website, the first of its kind Western Armenian Educational Resource Center.

Zndoog.com is a dynamic new website for educators, parents and others who need modern teaching resources in West Armenian. It brings together in one place online various tools, educational materials, publications (including textbooks), audiovisual materials, cartoons, music and even games essential for language acquisition by different age groups. . There are many elements that are specifically developed for Zndoog, such as lesson plans for teachers and helpful instructional videos. Entries are easily accessible and can be searched by age group, genre, title and author. All articles are in West Armenian.

Currently, Zndoog contains over 170 resources. It will continue to develop by regularly adding new materials. People can submit materials for presentation on Zndoog.com following established guidelines and Zndoog’s overall contemporary student-centered pedagogical approach.

Zndoog.com will launch on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. (Lisbon time). The use of the website will be demonstrated and a panel of experts will discuss the concept and philosophy behind its creation, practical use, target audience and use in diaspora education systems.

The round table will be moderated by Razmik Panossian, Director of the Department of Armenian Communities of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

Stakeholders include:

-Ani Garmiryan, Senior Manager of Western Armenia Revitalization Projects and School Support, Department of Armenian Communities, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

-Christian Batikian, author and lecturer in Armenian literature, INALCO, Paris, France.

-Haiganoush Minasian, Director of the Armenian Zavarian School, Athens, Greece.

-Mary Gulumian, Executive Director, Armenian National Education Committee, Prelaty of Eastern United States, New York, USA.

-Nanor Sarkis, Armenian language teacher, Alex Manoogian School of UGAB, Montreal, Canada.

-Nora Sarafian Tachjian, Armenian language coordinator and teacher, Saint Mesrop Arabian School, Alfortville, France.
