The Peoples Bank Theater will celebrate its grand reopening on Friday at 8 p.m. with The Marshall Tucker Band.

“This is our first show since March 2020”, said Hunt Brawley, executive director of the Peoples Theater. “Tickets are still available.”

He said that before the Marshall Tucker Band perform, OYO will be performing on Putnam Street at 6 p.m. as part of the First Friday and DORA events.

The theater’s website notes that the Marshall Tucker Band met in Spartanburg, SC, in 1972. The band’s music catalog includes over 20 studio albums and hits like “Heard in a love song” and “You do not see.”

Ticket prices for the show range from $ 42 to $ 118 for booth seating.

Brawley said the group had not performed in the theater, but it was a good thing for the reopening.

“It looks like a good crowd coming for this show”, he said.

The next performance will be on October 21 with Clint Black, who has previously had shows at the Peoples Bank Theater.

Brawley said the masks won’t be needed, but they come highly recommended.

“We are doing everything we can (to reduce the numbers)”, he said. “This is still only a recommendation from the state of Ohio. Marshall Tucker or Clint Black didn’t demand anything either, so we’re sticking to that.

He said a lot of people are excited to get the theater back on track.

“We are obviously concerned about the local (COVID) numbers and hope to be at the top and the numbers start to drop. “ said Brawley. “There are a lot of moving targets and we’re doing our best to keep moving forward. “
