Police are looking for the identity of the black man who entered Springfield Avenue Capital One Bank at around 10 a.m.

The man scribbled a note on a withdrawal slip and handed it to the cashier, who said, “I have a gun, please give me all the money in the register, and no one will be injured, “Newark Public Safety Director Brian AO ‘Hara said.

The cashier gave the man money, along with a dye pack.

The suspect left the bank walking east on Springfield Avenue, but when he passed the bank property, the dye pack exploded. He then ran north on Blum Street.

The total amount of money stolen, along with the dye pack, was $ 2,500. The dye pack contained $ 200. The final count for the stolen money was $ 2,300.
