Cleveland Guardians merchandise will be on sale at Progressive Field, online from Friday

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The wait is almost over. Cleveland Guardians gear goes on sale at the Progressive Field team store on Friday, November 19.

The first items bearing the new name and logos for the Cleveland baseball team were originally scheduled to go on sale Monday, but the launch has been postponed without explanation. Then, on Tuesday, the baseball club announced that it had reached “an amicable resolution” to the lawsuit brought by the Cleveland Guardians roller derby team over the use of the name.

National online sales will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at MLBshop.com and Nike.com/fan-gear before expanding to other sites like Fanatics.com November 22. The Progressive Field team store will be the only local business selling official Guardian merchandise until the collection is available at other Northeast Ohio retailers starting Tuesday, November 23.

The team store will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, offering free donuts, coffee, raffle prizes and a giveaway to the first 50 buyers. The store will be closed on November 18 to prepare for the launch.

This is also the last day the team will be officially known as Indians, a name it had held since 1915. The organization will also switch to its new website and social media channels on Friday.
